Kona enjoys a day at the Lake

There's nothing like spending the day with my best friend!  But I know there are birds here, somewhere!

Who cares about a little muck
when there are birds to retrieve?!

One week back from hunt training, Kona shows his stuff in the conformation ring, getting his 1st UKC Grand Championship leg

HR UCH Fish Dog's Playing in the Kona Surf SH combines the best in conformation and performance. Dual registered in both the AKC and UKC, Kona is a UKC Champion, with 3 Grand Champion legs.  On the working side, he has achieved his UKC Hunting Retriever and AKC Senior Hunter titles, and has 2, Qualifying Passes for the 2012 Master National .

A combination of classic field and show lines, Kona’s pedigree contains such great dogs as CH Monarch's Black Arrogance, CH Lindall's Mastercraft, CH Shamrock Acres Light Brigade, NAFC FC AFC Trumarc's Zip Code and English Field Trial Champion Sandringham Sydney.

Kona did not see his first bird until he was almost a year old, and began his formal hunt training in December of 2009 at the age of almost 2.  In 2010, Kona earned both his AKC Junior and Senior Hunter titles, demonstrating his great drive, intelligence, and an exceptional nose. Kona is currently training for Finished/Master level tests, and has 2 AKC Master Hunter Passes.

In addition to brains, drive and  type,  Kona has classic, Labrador Retriever temperament. He is fun loving, outgoing, and gentle, and is a Registered Therapy Dog with Therapy Dog International.   Kona currently volunteers at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.
